HELPFUL TIPS FOR GUESTS
Welcome to Beau Soleil Cottage! We are delighted to have you here! Enjoy your stay. Here’s some information about the cottage you might find useful during your stay.
Phones. The phones in the cottage are now merely decorative. The cottage phone number has been discontinued. Your innkeeper can be contacted at 541-499-2960.
Fire Alarms and Extinguishers. Smoke alarms are located upstairs and downstairs. The cottage has two fire extinguishers: downstairs, under the sink; upstairs, in the laundry nook.
Thermostat. The cottage thermostat is located on the wall across from the stairs, near the half bath downstairs. It controls temperatures on both floors. The heating and cooling system in the cottage cannot take large temperature adjustments and can only be adjusted in increments of a few degrees over a period of several hours. The use of the ceiling fans and letting the downstairs bathroom door stay open most of the time will give a uniformly comfortable temperature on both levels.
Cable and WIFI. A limited basic cable service and a recently upgraded “Choice” WiFi service are provided at no cost to cottage guests. Network: RUELLE, Password: maison145. Better packages for both services are available locally and may be arranged for guests, at their own expense and with timely notice, by contacting your innkeeper.
Bedding. All bedclothes are provided for you. Bedding for the sofabed is in the two wicker trunks near the sofa and is available for guests who have arranged to use the sofabed.
Kitchen and Laundry Supplies. All table- and cookware is provided. In addition, we provide hand and dishwashing soaps that found are under the kitchen sink, and small cleaning rags in a drawer, as well as a variety of kitchen sponges that are in the pull-down drawer under the kitchen sink. No food or laundry aids are provided, but short-term cottage guests sometimes leave basic kitchen, laundry, and food supplies for others to use.
House Cleaning Supplies. For guests staying less than one month, we leave basic cleaning supplies and equipment under the sinks and in the laundry nook.
Cottage Appliances. In an orange binder in the media cabinet, you will find useful manufacturer information about the cottage appliances and equipment. Please familiarize yourself with the cottage equipment. And please note that the self-clean feature of the oven was damaged in flooding after the heavy ice storm of December 2013; it is no longer safe to use.
Community Safety. In the orange binder in the media cabinet, you will find important information about local emergency, safety, and conservation practices to enhance your safety while in Ashland.
Small Ladders. You’ll find one ladder behind the media cabinet and another beside the washing machine.
For Your Outdoor Enjoyment. 1. A small barbecue “barrel” cooker and grilling tools are for your use in the patio closet, accessible with your cottage key. The closet is a low-use area, so please scare the bugs and spiders away in there. Outdoor cook tools and the cooker should be cleaned and returned to the closet. Used charcoal should be cooled and left in a paper bag in the garbage. 2. You’ll find a couple of small yellow blankets in the upstairs closet and may come in handy for sitting outside when it’s cool. Or you may borrow them for an outdoor play or concert. When you’re done with them, please make sure we know if they should be laundered.
